Job Description/Requirements:

The Canadian Institute for Non-destructive Evaluation (CINDE) is a leading provider of NDT training in Canada and around the world. CINDE has been serving the NDT community for 40 years. Our success is the result of highly professional training delivered to meet the need of our customers. We have trained and provided certification testing for thousands of students – assisting them on their way to successful NDT careers.

We aim to provide as many learning opportunities to students as possible, but are occasionally limited by the number of instructors we have available. As a Full-Time Instructor, you will bring your training and experience to CINDE students and provide the high quality training experience that we are known for.

ACCOUNTABILITY
The Instructor is primarily accountable to the CEO for supporting Mohawk College and industry courses as well as workshops, certification exams, research projects and the delivery of educational materials in a variety of training environments and locations. Some work direction may be provided as needed by the CEO.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Instructor provides training in some/all of the 5 main NDT techniques and the certification exam process to NDT course students. Some responsibilities include:
• Provide exceptional learning experiences for students of CINDE.
• Provide excellent customer service to all who come to CINDE for NDT-related products/services.
• Prepare and maintain areas, equipment, and materials required for CINDE training.
• Demonstration of NDT inspection techniques using a variety of equipment.
• Monitoring of tests and exams in a classroom, workshop or lab setting.
• Identify training and development needs for self and others.
• Assist with research projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Successfully completed CGSB certification in one or multiple of the following: UT2, MT2, PT2, RT2, ET2 or equivalent NDT training in alternate certification schemes
• CGSB Level three certification in any NDT technique is an asset.
• Other technical certifications relevant to NDT is desirable. E.g. CEDO, CWB, API, TSSA etc.
• Job functions require sitting, standing, and walking during shift. You will also be required to lift and move lab equipment and test pieces up to 20 kg and wear personal protective equipment while in the lab.


SKILLS
• Professional presence to represent CINDE and Mohawk College to the public required.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to give constructive criticism of student performance as necessary and to model positive professional behaviors.
• Team-oriented attitude.
• Strong organizational and time management skills required.
• Excellent demonstrated use of NDT inspection equipment hardware and software.

• Excellent facilitation skills to promote and support interactive conversation and discussion.
• Basic welding, fitting, fabrication and equipment maintenance skills are an asset.
• Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and Quality Management Systems.
• Good working knowledge of NDT training curricula, certification schemes, equipment and software.

• Good use of software programs such as Microsoft Office, Word, Power Point, and Excel.
• Basic use of hand tools, lab equipment, specialized computer hardware and software.

HOURS of WORK
Instructor classroom hours for day courses are 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday. Schedule flexibility is required to deliver courses off-site or for extended periods over several weeks.

SALARY
$80,000 - $100,000/year commensurate with experience.
