Job Description/Requirements: Position Summary: Candidates for NDT Inspector Level 2 will possess the skills and knowledge to perform all the duties of a trainee and can also independently inspect parts, make evaluations, perform required process tests and document results. Selected candidates as a Level 2 Inspector will be expected to perform evaluations on parts produced using fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI) techniques or fluorescent magnetic particle inspection (MAG) to determine and detect defects that may compromise the integrity or quality of the part. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: · Examines parts under fluorescent or black lighting to detect surface defects under the direction of a Level 3 NDT Inspector using one of two methods: FPI (Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection) or (MAG) Magnetic Particle Inspection. · Reviewing and assimilating work instructions relating to cleaning, etching, dwell/develop operations, inspection criteria, and record results. · Provide detailed information concerning processing techniques, findings, evaluation of indications, and part condition/disposition recommendations. · Set up and calibrate equipment, conduct tests using equipment and interpret, evaluate, and document inspection results. · Perform receiving inspections (before processing) as needed and immediately report any damage or discrepancy. · Cleaning and etching of production parts in preparation for inspections. · Application and removal of Fluorescent Penetrant Dye, dwell and develop process |
