Discover the new dedicated solution to detect CUI under galvanized steel cladding.

As a leader in advanced electromagnetic non-destructive testing solutions, Eddyfi Technologies is proud to announce the launch of a patent-pending pulsed eddy current (PEC) probe specifically designed to detect corrosion under insulation (CUI) in the presence of galvanized steel cladding. Simultaneously, to support this new PEC-GS probe and new features, the Eddyfi® Lyft® software version 1.3 is being released.

Because they are ferromagnetic, galvanized steel weather jackets are a challenge for PEC inspections. Designed to overcome the adverse effects of this material, the patent-pending PEC-GS probe ensures:

•             Improved signal penetration
•             Excellent detection capabilities and sizing accuracy
•             Enhanced signal-to-noise ratio (SNR)

The Lyft 1.3 software was developed to support the acquisition of top-quality data. During scans, the software automatically detects poor-quality signals, displays warnings, and then supplies information about probable causes and potential solutions. The new release also implements a dynamic line filter that adjusts itself automatically during scans when noise sources in the line drift from initial setup values. Furthermore, it is now possible to label rebars and metal wire mesh during setup, enabling the software to select the best sizing algorithm for the application. Finally, this latest version includes new C-scans displaying the amount of wall loss.

ST700 UV lamp for nondestructive testing solves the biggest challenges in fluorescent UV illumination

After consulting with numerous NDT experts and inspectors, Magnaflux is expanding their line of LED UV lamps for non-destructive testing with the ST700 overhead inspection LED UV light, which is specifically designed to eliminate or prevent some of the most common challenges around UV illumination in fluorescent NDT testing.

“Customers using fluorescent or mercury-vapor solutions today find that they do not have the coverage or intensity that they need to properly and efficiently inspect their parts. They also have to deal with frequent bulb failures, hazardous waste disposal costs, and the swift disappearance of mercury vapor bulb replacements in the market. On the other hand, current LED solutions are often too fragile to stand up to harsh industrial environments, while still not providing the coverage that they require,” explains Sakif Ferdous, Magnaflux Market Research Manager.

Designed and tested by NDT professionals, the ST700 speeds up fluorescent NDT processes while also improving inspection quality with an ultra-wide, 12 x 24 in / 30 x 61 cm UV-A beam when mounted 39 in / 1 m from the inspection surface. The ST700’s best-in-industry UV-A inspection area allows inspectors to quickly examine parts while minimizing part handling, especially with larger test parts, and the high intensity UV illumination helps indications stand out bright and clear for faster detection.

The Floormap3Di-R is fastest tank bottom inspection system developed by Silverwing, with scanning speeds of up to 1 m/s which is twice the speed of the previous model. The Floormap will improve your inspection efficiency whilst improving accuracy and data quality.

The Floormap combines two distinct technologies, MFL and STARS. The introduction of STARS (Surface topology air-gap reluctance sensors) enables the scanner to determine whether there is corrosion top side, bottom side or below the surface coating.

Improved signal to noise ratio combined with STARS and MFL ensures a more accurate and efficient inspection of coated and thicker plates.

The new wave of improvements pushes the limits of pulsed eddy current testing even further.

Dedicated to advanced NDT inspection technologies, Eddyfi is proud to announce the release of Lyft® version 1.2 and Lyft Pro, and the launch of its new improved line of pulsed eddy current (PEC) probes.

Version 1.2 of the Lyft software refines existing features in a number of ways. The compensated wall thickness (CWT) tool is nearly twice as precise compared to the previous version 1.1 and it can now be used on a wider range of defect types and shapes. Lyft 1.2 brings improved performances on small defects and the ability to size corrosion near massive metal objects/geometries such as flanges by actively compensating for their electromagnetic contribution, resulting in better flaw sizing and improved versatility.

TecScan is proud to introduce the ultraSCANTM Mx system which is specially designed for Ultrasonic Testing (UT) of Large Aerospace Composite Panels. With the increasing demand for composite components in the aerospace industry, inspection time is becoming a critical factor in overall production rates. TecScan’s flatbed scanners are designed for high throughput inspection of composite panels and components.

The standard configuration of the ultraSCAN Mx is a 5-axis system (X, Y, Y2, Z, Z2) with an inspection envelop of 3.5 x 2.5m. It comes with a specially designed water delivery system that provides a stable and repeatable UT signal. ultraSCAN Mx offers an efficient way to maximize the scanning rate with the use of multiple ultrasonic probes integrated into a specially designed water-box system. This multi-channel technology minimizes the amount of indexes required to scan the parts, reducing the total scanning time.. Instead of moving a single pair of probes across the surface of the parts, arrays of probes are used in pairs to scan across the inspected panel, the elements of the emitting array being fired simultaneously or one after the other.
