Job Description/Requirements:

The Canadian Institute for Non-destructive Evaluation (CINDE) is a leading provider of NDT training in Canada and around the world. CINDE has been serving the NDT community for 40 years. Our success is the result of highly professional training delivered to meet the need of our customers. We have trained and provided certification testing for thousands of students – assisting them on their way to successful NDT careers.

We aim to provide as many learning opportunities to students as possible, but are occasionally limited by the number of instructors we have available. As an Instructor, you will bring your training and experience to CINDE students and provide the high quality training experience that we are known for.

This position is an excellent fit for NDT professionals who are ready to transition away from irregular field hours and into a workplace with more stable hours.

ACCOUNTABILITY
The Instructor is primarily accountable to the Supervisor - Training for supporting Mohawk College and industry courses as well as workshops, certification exams, research projects and the delivery of educational materials in a variety of training environments and locations. Some work direction may be provided as needed by the Supervisor – Test Centre.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Instructor provides training in some/all of the 5 main NDT techniques and the certification exam process to NDT course students. Some responsibilities include:
- Provide exceptional learning experiences for students of CINDE.
- Prepare and maintain areas, equipment, and materials required for CINDE training.
- Demonstration of NDT inspection techniques using a variety of equipment.
- Monitoring of tests and exams in a classroom, workshop or lab setting.
- Assist with research projects.
- Other duties as assigned .

QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years of experience (instructor and/or field experience)
- Must have successfully completed CGSB certification in minimum of 2 of the following: UT2, MT2, PT2, RT2 and/or ET2 or higher
- Job functions require sitting, standing, and walking during shift. You will also be required to lift and move lab equipment and test pieces up to 20 kg and wear personal protective equipment while in the lab

SKILLS
- Professional presence to represent CINDE and Mohawk College to the public required.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to give constructive criticism of student performance as necessary and to model positive professional behaviors.
- Team-oriented attitude
- Strong organizational and time management skills required.
- Basic facilitation skills to promote and support interactive conversation and discussion.
- Good use of software programs such as Microsoft Office, Word, Power Point, and Excel.
- Basic use of hand tools, lab equipment, specialized computer hardware and software.

HOURS of WORK
Hours will vary depending on demand. Working to a flexible schedule is required as some set-up, preparation and clean-up is needed before or after workshops or classes.
