Under the Direction of the Director of Maintenance, is responsible for daily operations of NDT Department, planning of training requirements for technicians and business development of the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operations

-Adhere to company procedures and policies;
-Assess and ensure quality control of NDT work/tools;
-Budget for all NDT departments bases;
-Assist so that customer billing is accomplished accurately ;
-Provide input in the price quotes for all jobs;
-Review work orders for proper regulatory compliance;
-Ensure radiation safety (X-Ray);
-Overview the control all related records;
-Conduct internal audits;
-Produce and update NDT Quality & Procedures Manual;
-Evaluate, budget and purchase NDT equipment;
-Conduct regular departmental meetings;
-Further to the above, your appointment shall include the following specific tasks that relate directly to the Execaire Non-destructive Testing Process:
-Review of Customer specification NDT requirements;
-Review/development/amendment and approval of NDT procedures to meet Customer requirements;
-Review/development/amendment and approval of NDT technique sheets to meet Customer requirements;
-Training of NDT personnel in any new/amended requirements of our Customer base;
-Examination of NDT personnel as per NAS-410 requirements in any new/amended requirements of Customer;
-Review/development/amendment and approval of Sequencing of NDT operations templates as required;
-The Company Responsible Level 3 shall maintain regular oversight of the NDT Execaire process to ensure a continual improvement of the process;
-Administering the Annual Performance Review Evaluation program;
-Act as the interim Radiation Safety Officer for Execaire; and
-Participate in the selection and hiring of new employees.

As an AME for our Cessna Service Center, you will:

-Assists in the planning and dispatching of daily inspection work within Skedulo (dispatching software system)
-Monitors and adjusts labour hours and work orders in JDE
-Validates pricing for all work performed prior to approval
-Provides necessary information in order to support responsible Level 3 (as requested).
-Carries out inventory control of consumables
-Tracks and Monitors NDT equipment calibrations
-Maintains department Metrics
-Assists staff with inspection tasks (ie film development, part processing, daily tests, phase array Inspections, etc.)
-Coordinates travel logistics for NDT Technicians (as required).
-Pursues their studies within the NDT field in order to attain additional certifications encompassing their Level 2 status
-Performs other duties as requested by the Maintenance Production Manager; and
-Adheres to Company Policies and Procedures

Do you have what we are looking for?

-Post-Secondary Diploma/NDT Training certificate
-Level 1 experience on LP and MT testing;
-1-3 years’ experience in the Aviation Industry;
-Be able to communicate clearly in writing and verbally (English, French is an asset) ;
-Possess good analytical skills;
-Be detail-oriented;
-Have good eyesight and color vision;
-Understand health and safety issues;
-Valid Driver's licence;
-NDT Basic knowledge of ET, UT and RT testing theories and how to find related regulatory information (strong asset); and
-Tooling basic knowledge.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Reviews test orders to determine type of test requested, test procedures to follow, and part acceptability criteria;
-Determines test equipment settings according to type of metal, thickness, distance from test equipment, and related variables, using standard formulas;
-Calibrates test equipment, such as magnetic particle, x-ray, and ultrasonic contact machines, to standard settings, following manual instructions;
-Sets up equipment to perform tests, and conducts tests on parts, following procedures established.
-Examines surface-treated materials during penetrant and magnetic particle tests to locate and identify cracks or other defects, using black light;
-Evaluates test results against designated standards, utilizing knowledge of metals and testing experience;
-Prepares reports outlining findings and conclusions;
-Adhere to all company policies and procedures; and
-May perform similar tests on non-metallic parts or structures.
