JOB DESCRIPTION:
In this leadership role, you will have an opportunity to oversee and mentor a team of Non Destructive Testing (NDT) professionals performing fundamental NDT inspections and examinations to ensure the integrity of our Oil Sands assets. As the Lead Hand - NDT, you will spend time in both the office and the field, supervising and sharing your knowledge and expertise with junior technicians, and performing critical work in the field.

This position is based at our Horizon Oil Sands site in Fort McMurray, Alberta and is eligible for:
• Relocation and Company Sponsored Fly-In/Fly-Out and Accommodations Program

REQUIREMENTS:
• Typically 7+ years of experience using NDT techniques, procedures and equipment in the Oil and Gas industry, with 3+ years of supervisory experience
• Ideal candidate will hold the following certifications:
o UT 2, MT 2, PT 2, XRF I, PAUT 2, PCN or CSWIP
o Experience and knowledge in HT and FT
o Training and/or certification in RT
o Training and/or certification in ET
• Demonstrated ability to perform inspections and to interpret results
• College Technical Diploma preferred but High School Diploma or GED is required as a minimum

MATERIAL IDENTIFICATION & FIELD SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

OVERVIEW
Field data collection through visual checks and the use of an alloy material analyzer, plus office based inspection records administrative assistance.

Background in refining, process piping systems, CAD drafting, and pressure vessel inspection is an asset.

Currently scheduled as a one year term with the possibility of extension based on customer request.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Compliance with refinery health, safety, and environmental procedures
- Contribute to the LPS (Loss Prevention System)
- Understand alloy testing requirements as per refinery instruction manuals
- Complete material verification field testing of alloy components
- Document results of field testing in an inspection report
- Field verify valve lock-out numbers and record findings in Excel
- Assist the inspections department with various turnaround planning and data pull requests

SALARY & BENEFITS
- Salary range of $25/h - $29/h based on experience (1.5X Overtime)
- 4 Day work week (4 days X 9.5h)
- $75/month MSP Premium benefit
- $100/month health / dental

This Company is looking for a motivated QA Supervisor / NDT Technician based in our Brampton Office representing our operations which manufactures piping system expansion joints, dampers, diverters and flexible hose assemblies for the Petrochemical, Power Generation, Industrial Processing and HVAC markets.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

• Measure and test equipment verification calibration and repair. Data entry of the gauge calibration in the approved computer program
• Visual and dimensional inspection of all finished/in process products
• Receive inspection of raw material to conform to the requirements of the purchase order.
• Verify and control product quality and related documentation
• Ensure quality is in accordance with expectations set out in the Quality Manual, Quality Procedures and Work Instructions as per ISO 9001
• Perform Liquid Penetrant preparation & Inspection as required
• Maintain direct contact with customer’s inspectors / agencies in relation to quality requirements on individual orders.
• Other duties as assigned by Quality Manager

Requirements:
• University/College Degree/diploma
• CGSB level 2 – PT
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the Quality / NDT
• Good working knowledge of the ASME code – Sections II, V, VIII, IX, B31.1 & B31.3
• UT, MT & PMI certification an asset
• Good knowledge of welding an asset
• Good knowledge of Geometrical Dimensional Tolerances
• Blue Print Reading
• Use of measuring equipment
• MS Office
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Be a self-starter and possess good interpersonal, organization and time management skills.

In this role, you will plan, schedule, dispatch and supervise NDT staff and associated resources to meet client service requests within the Pacific Region, ensuring resources are available to satisfy operational requirements. You will work closely with regional operations leadership to share personnel, optimize collective resources and meet client needs.

This role requires 5 years of supervisory experience working and performing NDT in a variety of industrial work environments. Experience in job costing, scheduling, resources allocation, optimization and coordination, understanding of how to run a business while maintaining a respectful and team-orientated workplace. Understands and experienced in business and financial matters like P&L statement reporting and interpretation, gross margin, EBITDA, as well as understanding of, and compliance with, responsibilities under the provincial OHS Acts and Regulations, and Acuren’s polices and procedures.

This requires people management skills to interact well with all staff , to coach and mentor, resolve conflicts, be approachable and collaborative as a management style.
